Stuart Dallas considers winning Thursday’s friendly against Luxembourg is crucial to Northern Ireland’s hopes of obtaining a result in the dip of Monday European Qualifier from Germany.
Michael O’Neill’s side started their qualifying campaign with two wins against Estonia and Belarus, but know the challenges are to come from Germany and Holland.
Thursday’s friendly at Windsor Park, live on Sky Sports Premier League, can easily be missed but Dallas believes momentum is crucial.
“It’s a game we want to win,” Dallas said. “We have won four on the bounce now and we want to keep that winning feeling because it brings confidence.
“Additionally, it keeps that momentum going so we want to win Luxembourg.”
Dallas has grown used to the pressure of anticipation at Leeds since they still continue to pursue promotion to the Premier League, but he stated there is a similar sense round Northern Ireland nowadays after their recent successes in reaching Euro 2016 and nearly qualifying for the final World Cup.
“I believe that’s changed in the last several years and currently there are games we’re predicted to acquire and I think that’s because we’ve had success,” Dallas said.
“That’s always good and it’s a great pressure to get.”

“We definitely don’t fear them, we honor them,” Dallas said. “We’re under no illusions about just how difficult it’s going to be, it will be tough.
“I believe we have to believe we’ll get something out of the game, there’s no point in just having expect. I’m convinced a sold-out Windsor Park will bounce.
“As an Independent player, that may be intimidating and the lovers will play their part.
“From the home games you always have a chance.”
