Premier League release joint statement calling for action to be taken on piracy

The Premier League has joined calls for Saudi country satellite operator Arabsat to stop providing a stage for a pirate network that is”abusing” sport.
The system, called beoutQ started streaming sporting events and despite repeated efforts by sport the piracy has lasted.
A report by manufacturer protection company MarkMonitor commissioned by lots of all confederations and leagues states that a definitive connection was established between Arabsat and the community.
Arabsat is headquartered in Saudi Arabia and was set in 1976 from the 21 members of the Arab League.
“The report affirms without question that beoutQ’s pirate broadcasts have been transmitted with satellite infrastructure owned and operated by Arabsat,” read a statement released jointly by FIFA, UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the Premier League, the Bundesliga, LaLiga, Serie A and also Ligue 1.
“We’ve been disappointed in our attempts to pursue an official copyright claim against beoutQ in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and, even while we’ve received reports that beoutQ transmissions are currently disrupted, we nevertheless call Arabsat and all other satellite providers to prevent (and going forward agree to refrain ) providing a platform for piracy, which harms not only legitimate licensees, lovers and players but also the sports that it abuses.
“Cutting off its access to transmission services could be a significant step in the struggle to prevent beoutQ. We all, individually and collectively, remain committed to bringing an end to international sports piracy.”
The state and arabsat are approached to get a reply by the Press Association news agency.
The UK and US governments have previously spoken out against the surgeries of beoutQ, with the chairman of their Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) choose committee Damian Collins previously describing the network’s activities as”straightforward piracy” in May of this year.
